The short version
Kinlit keeps what your family puts into it so you can share it with each other. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no location. We never sell your information.
Who we are
Kinlit is made by Simplr Solutions (“we”, “us”). [LEGAL ENTITY NAME AND MAILING ADDRESS.] This policy covers the Kinlit iPhone app and its pages on thesimplrsolutions.com.
What Kinlit collects
Your account. Your name, and either your Apple ID sign-in or your email address. If you sign in by email, the one-time codes we send are stored only in hashed form.
Your circle. The names and relationships of the people in it, and phone numbers if someone adds them.
Care information. Check-ins, mood and “took my pills” answers, care log entries (including symptoms and incidents), medications and doses, appointments and their addresses, and the care info card: doctors, pharmacy, insurance, conditions, allergies and emergency contacts. Some of this is health information, and we treat it that way.
Device information. A push notification token so we can send reminders and alerts, and the phone’s battery level when Kinlit is open, so the family can see whether Mom’s phone needs charging.
What Kinlit doesn’t collect
No location, no contacts and no photos. The portraits in the app are illustrations you pick, not uploads. Kinlit has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking tools, and it doesn’t follow you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
Only to run Kinlit: to show your circle its shared information, send check-in reminders and missed check-in alerts, put together the weekly summary, and manage your subscription. We don’t sell it, rent it, or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
The people in your circle see what’s shared in it: check-ins, the care log, the rota, appointments and the care info card. Your weekly caregiver check-in is private to you and is never shown to the family. When you share the care info card as a PDF, it goes only where you send it.
Beyond that, we share information only with the services below that run Kinlit, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it
We keep your circle’s information while the circle is active. If a subscription or free trial ends, the circle moves to Free and nothing is deleted. [RETENTION AFTER AN ACCOUNT OR CIRCLE IS DELETED, AND FOR FREE-PLAN LOG ENTRIES OLDER THAN 30 DAYS.]
Your choices
You can view and change your information in the app at any time, and leave a circle. [IN-APP ACCOUNT DELETION — NOT BUILT YET.] You can also email us to delete your account or to ask for a copy of your circle’s information, and we’ll do it.
Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information, such as correcting it. Email us and we’ll help.
Security
Information is encrypted between your phone and our servers, and it’s encrypted where it’s stored. Access rules make sure each person can only read the circles they belong to, and only you can read your private check-ins.
Children
Kinlit is for adults caring for family members. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes and contact
